IONITY Charging Card for IONITY App users.

The IONITY Charging Card is an authentication medium for effortless, on-the-go charging at all IONITY charging points. Simply tap your card at the charger, charge, and drive—it's that easy to power your journey with convenience and confidence.
RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. It's a wireless technology that uses radio waves to identify and exchange data between a tag (like the one in your charging card) and a reader (like the EV charger, allowing for quick and contactless activation.
To get an IONITY Charging Card you need to register in our app (https://www.ionity.eu/app). Once registered, you will be able to order your own charging card. To do that, go to your Profile in the IONITY App and click on “Charging card” to proceed. In this section, you can order, register and manage your charging card.
For active IONITYMotion and Power subscribers, the charging card is included freeof charge. Customers with an IONITY Go subscription will be chargeda one-time fee, which will be displayed in the app at the time of ordering.
Four easy steps – Once you have received your charging card in the mail:
1. In the App, tap on “Profile”
2. Then navigate to “Charging Card”
3. Here you will find the option to “Activate your charging card”
4. Enter the card number you find on the back of your card and confirm. You’re all set to go!
1. Unlock your car.
2. Plug in your car and make sure the connector sits firmly in the socket.
3. For some chargers, you might need to press start on the charger screen.
4. Hold your charging card close to the reader below the charger screen. The screen will indicate when your card has been authorized, and the charger will begin preparing to start the session.
5. After around 15-20 seconds, the charging session will start. You can lock your car now.

If you have an active Motion or Power subscription, we will use the same payment method you selected for your subscription. You can updatethis payment method anytime under “Subscriptions” in the app. Pleasenote: changing your subscription payment method will also update the payment method linked to your charging card.
If you're a Go customer (registered customer with no subscription), the payment method you selected when ordering your charging card willbe linked to it. You can update this payment method under “Subscriptions” in the app.
The price for charging with an IONITY ChargingCard is the same as when charging through the app. You can view the charging rates in your subscription details under “Subscriptions” in the app.
No, you do not. You can use the IONITY App to subscribe and use our charging services.
Your charging card will be delivered in approximately two weeks.
You can only have one active charging card at a time. If you need a new card (e.g. due to loss or damage), simply cancel your current one in the app and order a replacement.
To cancel your Charging Card, go to “Charging Card” in the app and select “Cancel your Charging Card.” Please note that this action is permanent - once cancelled, the card cannot be used again. We kindly ask you to return the cancelled card for recycling to the following address:

If you’ve only misplaced your charging card, you can temporarily block it in the app under “Charging Card.” Once you find it, you can easily unblock it from the same menu.
If you’re sure your card has been stolen or permanently lost, you can cancel it directly in the app. Please note: this action is permanent, and the card cannot be used again.
To order a new card, please first cancel your existing one in the app by going to “Charging Card” and selecting “Cancel charging card.” If you’d like to request a refund for the cancelled card, please contact our Customer Support team.
If your charging session fails using your charging card, please first check in the IONITY App that the card is activated and functioning properly. If the issue persists, we recommend trying to start the session via the IONITY App instead. If the issue repeats at other connectors, do not hesitate to contact our Customer Support team at support@ionity.eu for further assistance.
You will receive an invoice automatically to your e-mail address up to 48 hours after the session.
Your charging card is accepted at all IONITY chargingpoints. Charging sessions will be billed in the local currency of the countrywhere the charging takes place. You can view the price per kWh for eachspecific charging site directly in the app.
We will attempt to process the failed payment a second time. If this attempt is also unsuccessful, a payment reminder process will be initiated, and you will be contacted via email. Please be aware that if we detect any signs of fraudulent activity, we reserve the right to deactivate your charging card as a security measure.
With the launch of our IONITY Charging Card,charging sessions started with the charging card will not appear in the app. You will receive an invoice via email for each session. This functionality will be added to the app soon.
Currently, our charging card works only at IONITY charging points. We're working on expanding access to more locations soon, stay tuned.
While the IONITY App shows when charging points are available and offers helpful details about our locations, you don’t need the app to charge using the charging card. However, please note that the charging card can only be ordered and managed through the app.
We are currently unable to authorize charging sessions in Portugal using our charging cards - Instead, we offer an ad-hoc charging solution in partnership with a local provider. To start a charging session, simply scan the QR code on the charger. You’ll be redirected to our partner’s website (miio) where you can authorise the payment and begin charging. If you have any questions or need assistance, our Customer Service team is happy to help.
