What is the difference between the Right of Withdrawal and a Cancellation?
Right of Withdrawal (RTW)
The right of withdrawal is a legal "cooling-off period" that lets you change your mind shortly after a purchase.
- This is a legal consumer right that allows you to change your mind and withdraw from a purchase within a specified period (usually 14 days for online purchases in many countries).
- If the conditions are met, the contract is treated as if it never existed, and you are generally entitled to a refund for the fees.
Cancellation
Cancellation is the process of ending an ongoing agreement or service according to its contractual terms.
- Cancellation refers to ending a service, subscription, or contract according to the terms and conditions that apply.
- Depending on the contract, cancellation may take effect immediately or at the end of the current billing period.
- Cancellation does not automatically entitle you to a refund for services that have already been provided or used.
Note: both actions can be done via our IONITY App.
