IONITY chargers' halo colours

Already from a distance you can recognise the 2.6 metre tall HPC with its unique multifunctional LED light ring. This so-called halo provides visibility in the dark when approaching the charging station, as well as creating a brightly illuminated environment of the station during the charging process. In addition, various colour modes indicate the different statuses of charging.

The charging stations were developed in cooperation with the BMW subsidiary Designworks and were awarded gold at the iF Design Awards 2019 for their design and lighting concept.

The LED halo indicates the status of the connector:

STAND BY/ SLEEP MODE
Halo is dimmed white.

VEHICLE ARRIVES AT THE CHARGING STATION

When the vehicle arrives and is detected by the sensors or when the user touches the charger display, the Halo lights up in white.

CONNECTING & AUTHORIZING
When the user connects the charger to the car or authorizes the payment, the color of the Halo does not change - it is illuminated white.

CHARGING
When the charging process has started, the halo pulses purple and the LED indicates the charge status of the vehicle battery.

CHARGING FINISHED
Once charging is complete, the halo remains pink until the vehicle is connected to the charging station.

After unplugging, the halo turns white again.

ERROR
If an error occurs, the halo turns red.
