Information about 3DS authentication for credit cards

The European Union has introduced EU regulation (PSD2 – Payment Service Directive 2) to increase the security for online shopping in the form of two-factor authentication for credit card payments.

What does that mean?

When you pay with your credit card, you will be asked to confirm your identity a second time with a method that has been determined by your bank.

How does it work?

Depending on the methods provided by the bank, you will have to enter a code which you receive via SMS or confirm the payment through your banking app (fingerprint, passcode etc.).

How can I access this for my credit card?

You will have to contact your bank or review the banks website to find out how to access this for your credit card.
