We aim to continuously improve our offer, therefore we are planning to make some adjustments at the turn of the year 2022/2023. From 6th December 2022 we are no longer offering our subscription model IONITY PASSPORT to new customers.   

In order to offer more flexibility in the future, we are working on a new offer which will plan to introduce during the first half of 2023. 


Why IONITY PASSPORT will no longer be available?  

We introduced the IONITY PASSPORT on to the market back in 2020. Since then the market requirements and the customer needs have changed. We are working on a new subscription model to be able to offer our customers more flexibility in the future.  

Interested customers will be able to sign up for the new subscription model as soon as it becomes available. 

Will there be a new IONITY PASSPORT? When? 

We are working with highest priority on developing a new subscription model. We plan to introduce a new offer during the first half of 2023.

If I already have IONITY PASSPORT, will it still work?

Yes, already existing IONITY PASSPORTS will still be active under the existing Terms and Conditions.

How can I pay if the IONITY PASSPORT is no longer available?  

Even without the IONITY PASSPORT one can easily continue to pay at the charging point with the smartphone - by using the IONITY APP or a QR Code.

Will my account in IONITY APP still be active without the PASSPORT? 

Yes, if you have an active account within the IONITY APP, it will remain active also after the termination of the PASSPORT contract. You will still be able to start and pay for your charging session in the app.

As soon as our new offer is available, we will inform about it in our Social Media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram und LinkedIn) as well as on our website https://ionity.eu/en/network/access-and-payment and our Support Portal.  

How much do I have to pay without the IONITY PASSPORT? 

Depending on where you charge your vehicle, our direct tariff is based on consumption per kilowatt hour (kWh) or per minute (min), therefore the price may vary in different countries. More details can be found on our website: https://ionity.eu/en/network/access-and-payment
